My Brother's Birthday Card
My Brother's Birthday Card
Each year it's becoming more and more challenging to come up with a special card for my brother (and only sibling) Mark. The fact that he really appreciates and enjoys my elaborate cards makes me work all the harder to come up with something creative that he also relates to. He and his family live in San Diego which means he's only about a 5 hour drive to Las Vegas. He and his buddies have been meeting there for years. So when I saw this Poker Box Card from Dreaming Tree, I knew I had found the right card. Selecting card stock was the slowest part but I used all metallic paper with the exception of the white cards and black base. It took me about 4.5 hours from stsrt to finish which isn't bad considering all the parts that I had to cut and glue.
Don't miss the sticker in the window which I just happened to have saved for such a card for Mark.
Thanks for looking.

Thank you all so much! It's a labor of love and I enjoy it every year knowing they mean a lot to him.
And Pam, that is my challenge each time for sure.
Looking at it this morning I feel the poker chips need something inside them. He is turning 71 so I may add that to the center one and something else to the 2 smaller ones. Like "HB - 71 - 2U".

Re: My Brother's Birthday Card - with addition
I added tiny alphas to the poker chips so it says "HB-71-2U". I think having something at the chip centers improved it. They looked too blank to me.
