Heat Wave Class
Heat Wave Class
I signed up for the latest Online Card Class - Heat Wave. It's a short 3 day class (it's over now until next week's wrap up day). While I didn't really learn anything new, it was nice to get some different ideas and to be reminded to get out the embossing powders! These cards are from days 1 & 2 and tonight I hope to try some of day 3s stuff.
One thing that was interesting that I'm going to try tonight was embossing with just water. Jennifer McGuire splattered some water on cardstock, put on embossing powder and heated to melt if from underneath and it worked!

Re: Heat Wave Class
Beautiful tulips, Nancy. Hope you'll show us your water-embossing!

Re: Heat Wave Class
Very nice, I really like the first one. Are those stamps all from one set or did you draw the designs?
Re: Heat Wave Class
Wow Nancy such different cards and both beautiful. Love the edginess of the first one and its colors. What kind of paper did JM use for the water embossing? What a great idea if it works

Re: Heat Wave Class
all the stamps in the first one are from a Club Scrap set "Doodle Flowers" I think it's called?
Okay, so I've tried the embossing with water. Epic fail. One piece did turn out semi-OK except for a burnt spot It takes longer to get the embossing powder to melt since the water must dry also.
or so Jennifer says. I did not get the results she did, but it's a pretty hot day here so I'm going to retry it on a cooler day and see if that helps? But I've done it 4 times with less than good results so I'm ready to move on to something else!
Jennifer used regular white cardstock - so I used my usual Neenah Solar White.
Oh well - it's too hot to get worked up over this so I'll move on. But will revisit!

Re: Heat Wave Class
These cards are fab. I tried to comment on your blog but Google was playing games with me and I couldn't get past the Spam guard.
Re: Heat Wave Class
I was revisiting the class materials for the Stretch Your Stamps class I took for a card I want to make. There is so much info in that class. I should go through it all again. I don't know if their classes are all like that but I'd say they are very worthwhile.
Re: Heat Wave Class
I keep eyeballing that class. While I'm in the doldrums that might be a good one to sign up for.
Re: Heat Wave Class
Here are a few of the cards I made at my Renegade Stamp meet-up last week. I have several more that I stamped the flower images on and need to turn into cards. I thought they would make a great set for one of my sisters as a Christmas present. I tried to do a close up so you could see the glitter. I did small areas with a Quickie Glue Pen then used gold glitter embossing powder. What a mess - but it cleans up nicely with a Swiffer sheet!
