Cards for deployed troops

Post by Debbie J »

We had a speaker at our American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Meeting last Wednesday who is looking for people to make sure our deployed troops can get a Christmas card, if you are interested all you have to do is sign the card and leave a note of thanks but signing is all that is required and leave the envelope unsealed. They don’t have to be handmade but would be a nice touch. Last year him and his wife sent out over 5,500 cards! He’s very passionate and doesn’t want our deployed men and women to go without at least getting a card. I rounded up 55 cards that I signed and he’s stopping by to pick them up. I will get his address if anyone wants to help out. They have a Facebook page and I will attach a copy of his business card here.

Thanks Debbie. I really like this idea. I have a “few” holiday cards that were never sent out. I just need to make or purchase envelopes for them.

Just remember we probably don't want to send anything with glitter on it... that was one of the smart rules from that other group... the glitter gets on everything and it shows up in night vision goggle views....

Yes, that’s correct Debi, I should have mentioned that.

just checked on their FB page about a due date for cards.... they need them by 11/27 at the latest....

so... now that I've found all my leftover past year's handmade cards... I'm going to put notes in them all tonight and get them in the mail to these folks tomorrow!
